Third Edgware Scout Group

Saturday is the Night Hike at Frith Grange. The timings have changed slightly so please drop off at 7:30 and collect at 10:30.

The Chess Competition is on Sunday 11^th March, also at Frith Grange, 2pm – 5pm. Entry is £1. Please let me know if your child would like to enter.

On the last week of term (29^th March) the Cubs will be throwing you a Jubilee Party. You may have received an invitation from them a few weeks ago, bit in case it was not readable…
Cubs is at the normal time of 6.45. Parents and siblings are then invited to join us from 7.45 for activities, music and food prepared by the Cubs. Please do your best to attend as the Cubs will be working hard to get ready for you.

The cost for the Diamond Jubilee Camp will be £65. It is three nights away and will be a camp involving all sections (Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers & Network) of Barnet Borough. Could you please let me know if at this stage you think your child will be attending?

Lastly could you please let me know what size t-shirt your child wears? We are getting some Pack clothing designed and It would be helpful to know this when ordering.

On April 7^th. We will be doing air rifle shooting at Well End Campsite. The address is Well End Activity Centre, Well End Road, Borehamwood, WD6 5PR.

The timing will be the usual 6.45 – 8.15 and Cubs should be in uniform and bring outdoor clothing, and bring £1 subs as usual.

The instructor will be the campsite warden who is qualified and will ensure the safety on the range. We are very happy that this is a safe and suitable activity, however due to the fact that this is a potentially dangerous activity there is extensive guidance available from the Scout Association here http://www.scoutbase.org.uk/library/hqdocs/facts/pdfs/fs120004.pdf. If you have any questions I would be happy to hear from you.

Next term begins on April 28^th. We hope you have a good break and Pesach.

The Night Hike will take place on Saturday 5th March. It begins at 6.30pm and should end at about 10pm.

It starts and ends at Frith Grange Campsite, Frith Lane, Mill Hill, NW7 1PT.

Entry is £1. Cubs should wear full uniform as well as a warm waterproof coat, hat, gloves and scarf. They should bring a torch. They may also like to bring a bottle of drink and a snack to eat along the way.
